A holiday in the south of Poland in September 2024.
We visited the skull chapel in Kudowa-Zdrój – photography wasn’t permitted inside the chapel, which is understandable when you consider it is a mass grave. A very unique, fascinating, and somewhat sombre place to visit, and certainly worth visiting.
There was a statue of this fella outside – unsurprisingly he remains popular in Poland.
Autumn was rolling on, and we weren’t that far from some of the areas badly hit by flooding. But we were able to walk through the beautiful countryside on the Polish/Czech border and explore a lovely Japanese garden nestled in the mountains.
The weather thankfully held out on this day, even if it wasn’t so great on the others!

We also visited Castle Rock Forest which… turned out to be closed that day, whoops, and it was our last day so we just got to enjoy the exteriors right before the rain rolled in.
